Makena njeri sentiments that puts her in hot soup

Sometime back last year the LGBT community came out and defended their rights claiming that they were being reprimanded and  oppressed.

Well as much as that is true, it has been a fight for a lost course because Cabinet secretary George Magoha gave a clear directive that all gay students should not attend any boarding facilities because they may 'corrupt ' their counterparts.

Many if not all Kenyans were in support because they believe Kenya is a straight county and should atleast try to teach the next generation that.

Recently Sauti sol band soloist chimamo came out as gay after long allegations that he might be one. The week before ,both makena and chimamo had an event that was planned to address their needs as LGBT community which was not well received by the Kenyan police. They had to be cut short because it was perceived as taking a step back from what the country was trying to achieve.

After the event was cancelled both makena and chimamo came out to reprimand the police for their actions . They said it was against their right because every Kenyan had the freedom to hold any event as long as it does not infringe on other peoples private space.

She took the lament to social media and many Kenyans lashed back at her and congratulated the police for their act.
But what has become an internet topic is makena's sentiments . She was quick to point out that we are showing the next generation a bad habit of repressing rights of certain group of people

As always Kenyan were quick to fire back because it seemed she had no idea of what she was talking about.
One Kenyan said. ' why is she talking about the next generation, which she is not going be part off'

As much as we need rights as human beings some things are just not right. Both according to the Bible and our culture as Kenyans. I think the police did a wrong thing but for the very right course.  Sometimes it's the only way to save the next generation makena and chimamo are talking about.
