What happens if Raila loses the next general election

They say That Politics is a game by politician on citizens and is played dirty and players keep changing team to be on a safer side. This is very factual because every year there are new political parties and coalition formed.

Disclaimer: Before you continue you should understand that I am not a politician or a lawyer or anyone that matters. I am a blogger with opinions, a storyteller chasing a hit piece but most importantly I’m a Kenyan citizen born and raised and I share in the laments of my fellow Kenyans in their quest for justice and good/sober governance. With that said, let’s go on.

Over the past decade or so  Kenya has had government formed by unlikely strong coalition with one aim of defeating the government in power or the stronger opposition. In 2003 it was the famous Narc Kenya, Orange Democratic Party ,Ford Kenya Asili and the new party that formed an alliance to defeat the incumbent long serving former and deceased president Daniel MOI.

In 2007 general election, characterized by violence it was Raila and Ruto who saw there lead stolen and given to the winner of 2003 economist Mwai Kibaki.

In 2013, Ruto formed an alliance with The One Alliance of Uhuru Kenyatta  to defeat the strong opposition of Raila Odinga and his 4 co-principals in NASA coalition.

2017 general election was a repeat of 2013 with so many contrasts that saw the election nullified by the then chief justice David Maraga.
At the end Uhuru promised to support Ruto in the coming general election come sunshine or rain .

Barely 6 months into power,The president formed an alliance with the opposition without consulting his deputy which brought them to a crossroad. The famous handshake divided jubilee coalition in half with Ruto being on the bitter end of Tanga Tanga and Uhuru retaining his piece of kieleweke.

Ruto slowly pulled away form jubilee and began his national movement of hustlers that has since had a large following from the people of a lower status.

With Uhuru not contending in the coming general election it leaves two candidates for the race this being the former prime minister and the deputy president for the top seat.

Many have termed the 2022 general election interesting  because for the first time since independence there is no dominant tribe that has ruled.

Like any other general election, it's a race between two people that have a huge following in Kenya

We are waiting to see what wills happen since its Raila who nurtured Ruto into the politics. The ODM of 2007 saw the two side by side in the presidential race.
They separated in 2013 after Ruto as many bloggers say saw that Raila had no hunger for power.

What makes the next general election interesting Is that, it's a race between the master and his student. Over the past general election Rails had managed to remain relevant because he knows how to play his cards.2007 general election was characterized by post-violent elections, there was a clear indication of rigging which saw Koffi Annan's intervention to settle the score.

Raila was made the first prime minister since independence as Ruto was thrown under the bus by being the minister of agriculture of which later he was accused of graft by the same government.

In 2013 The NASA coalition emerged with 4 co-principals. As always Raila was on top of things again endorsed as the flag bearer. They lost to Jubilee a coalition that had emerged with the partnership of former Raila's tallyman Ruto and late Moi successor Uhuru Kenyatta.

With the same trends of rigging elections still, a factor Jubilee won by a small margin. Raila was still people's favorite in 2017 which nearly saw another violence after the court overruled the presidential election.
Raila didn't challenge and he made once more history by becoming the people's presidency until he was the brand ambassador of handshake and BBI which over time has become irrelevant.

Now that his relevance in BBI and handshake is fading, he has once more joined the race for the top seat this time going head to head with someone he nurtured into politics.

This seems like the last card Raila had snd the only way he can remain relevant in Kenyan politics is if he becomes the next president of Kenya, but he is going against a guy who is not only smart in the game but has the hunger for power all the same. Ruto hates being on the losing end...

Raila for the past elections didn't mind being on the losing team because he would always find a way to remain relevant. Now that has to change because there is no way he is going to remain relevant in Ruto's government after what happened between them.

We have to wait and just see how this one plays out.
The only prayer is that it doesn't lead to bloodshed or another historical post violent elections.
