The younger generation faces a lot of uncertainty and can feel adrift in life, easily influenced by the world around them. Many in their mid-20s and early 30s live as if there's no tomorrow, partying, drinking, and hooking up without considering the consequences of their actions.
In the past, there was a push for change by the GEN Z, demanding to be heard and for corrupt leaders to be held accountable. However, after some initial progress, the situation seems to have regressed. There are still no jobs, and no accountability, and the same leaders continue to misuse funds. In politics, alliances shift as quickly as in sports, with MPs now seeking to impeach the deputy president, seemingly to distract the youth from the original cause they fought for. The original message of being leaderless and tribeless seems to have been co-opted by those in power. There are suspicions that Rigathi Gachagua is behind the impeachment, but the reasons for this move are unclear.
MPS needs to address the genuine concerns raised during the protests and not be driven by political motives. If the protests were indeed sponsored, then I jokingly claim my share, as I actively supported the GenZ movement by creating a custom T-shirt.
