Jackson was born and raised in a small village in Siaya County, Kenya. Growing up, he faced many of the common challenges faced in impoverished areas of Kenya, including lack of access to education, clean water, and basic health care. This motivated Jackson to better his own life and find a way to help improve the lives of those around him.
After finishing high school, he decided to move to the United States to pursue his bachelor's degree in Computer Science at Indiana University. After completing his Bachelor's degree, he worked as a software developer for Google in California.
There, he was inspired by the transformational change and economic growth brought about by technology and innovation in the US, and he wanted to replicate it back in Kenya. As a result, he left Google and returned to Kenya to apply his knowledge and skills to build technology that could improve and empower the lives of his fellow Kenyans.
In 2013, he founded Dollar Power, a mobile banking platform that provides bank accounts, visa cards, and other financial services to the African diaspora in America, allowing Kenyans living in the US to easily remit funds to those living in Kenya.
Since its inception, Dollar Power has provided access and financial services to millions of Africans in America and has improved the economic conditions of many in East Africa who previously lacked a reliable source of remittances.
As he continues to expand Dollar Power, Jackson also works with global organizations to support the development of the African tech ecosystem and contribute to the economic and social development of the continent.
Jackson's accomplishments have been recognized globally, having been named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum and a Leading CEO of Africa by Forbes. He hopes to continue making a positive impact on the world and inspiring others to use technology and entrepreneurship to create impact and change.
