Following the closure of schools due to the increasing covid 19 cases,this creates an alarm to the teenage girls,parents and the government at large.They are all relating this closure with the previous year where a number of girls became pregnant and more so infected with sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
Research performed by eye radio confirmed that nearly4,000 girls in Kenya were impregnated in five months.In some cases the girls encountered rape and the issue settled at the village setup.what kind of a ruthless world?The man is left to manouver the world just because he paid for his act with cattle but the girl is left out with a baby to look after and drugs to take.
A 17 years old Dorcas narrated to her friends how she got herself pregnant.Tears rolled down her cheeks when she remembered the moment she gave in for that man when he told her that she is giving him a love lorn but little did she know if his cruddy behaviour.The best thing the man did was to impregnate and damp her.
She is now recuperating greatly annoyed with the man but still she is now a mum,a student and still someone's child too.
Judging from the aspect that we are in the 21st century where the thinking capacity of man is high it is clear that the teenage girls have learnt lessons from their fellow girls who have failed to meet the mark.
While failure is part of life,we often fail to learnt from lessons from it .It is easier to gloat in shame,anger, disappointment or other negative energy thus denying ourselves the opportunity to celebrate failure.Celebrating failure is not easy.Think about it;work and school systems reward high achievers but the hardship that stand on the way of success are often not taken into account .To make the matter easy, teenage pregnancies should not be a barrier for a girl to continue with her studies neither should she be discriminated agains it .
